Summary: NLC supports OSA@ECU to hold election under SSAF Representation Guidelines

National Liaison Committee for International Students (NLC), the national peak body for International Students, supports Overseas Students Association at Edith CowanUniversity (OSA@ECU) to call for OSAssembly Election 2013 on campus.

In accordance with Overseas Students Association Constitution 2006, OSAssembly Election is to be conducted for OSA@ECU.

OSAssembly is the international student representative council on campus. It is comprised of 1 NLCampus Executive and 5 NLCampus Representatives, democratically elected through annual OSA campus election.
The Executive is elected through preferential voting and must have an absolute majority & Representatives are elected through proportional voting and must achieve the required quota.

The term of office will be from 1 April 2013 until 31 March 2014. 

Nominations

Nominations for the positions are now called. Each nomination must be signed by one nominator and the nominee. Both the nominator and the nominee must be international student eligible to stand and vote at OSAssembly Election.

Nominations will open at 10 am (AWST) on Monday, 4 March 2013 and close at 4 pm (AWST) on Friday, 15 March 2013.

All nomination forms and required documents should be submitted to the Returning Officer via email.

Following the close of nominations, a list of the nominations received will be posted on OSA@ECU website.

Eligibility

Candidates for all positions must be currently enrolled full-fee paying international student at Edith Cowan University at the time of both nomination and election.

Only currently enrolled full-fee paying international student at Edith Cowan University are eligible to vote at OSAssembly Election.

Ballot

If more than one nomination for NLCampus Executive position and more than 5 nominations for NLCampus Representatives positions are received by close of nominations, a ballot will be conducted on each campus.

Mount Lawley Campus: 8 am to 6 pm (AWST) on Monday, 25 March2013
Joondalup Campus: 8 am to 6 pm (AWST) on Tuesday, 26 March 2013
Bunbury Campus: 10 am to 4 pm (AWST) on Wednesday, 27 March 2013
