NLCommunity Review and Legal Access is the complaint resolution program of the International Student Community. The program is jointly administered by campus-based Overseas Students Association (OSA) and National Liaison Committee (NLC), national peak body for International Students in Australia.

The program provides a three-stage process for receiving and resolving complaints through our NLC national and OSA campus operations.

 

Through OSArbitration, NLCompliance and Legal Access, International Students are protected from discrimination and unfair treatment by education providers and government agencies.

 
Stage 1: OSArbitration
 

On campus level, OSArbitration provides assessment and counselling to International Students who have complaints against the education provider.

 

OSA ensures the education provider maintain your enrolment while the internal complaint and appeal process is ongoing.

 
Stage 2: NLCompliance
 

On national level, NLCompliance provides intervention and referral to International Students who choose to access the external appeal process.

 

NLC ensures State Ombudsman or Overseas Students Ombudsman follow up on your case whether you are from a public institution or private institution.

 
Stage 3: Legal Access
 

On state level, Legal Access provides assistance and representation to International Students through Legal Aid and Community Lawyer Network.

 

Legal Access covers civil, criminal and family law matters with special focus on student visa cancellation and refusal through representation at Migration Review Tribunal (MRT).
